| Torrox, Spain. Local attractions and information. Spanish Costa |
 |
Located on the eastern end of the Costa del Sol. Torrox is at the base of the Spanish Sierra de Almijara mountain range and just 5 kilometers from Nerja, Costa del Sol Spain.
We have available a Map of Spain and information on Spanish weather.
It is split into three separate local areas, which all have many attractions and local information on offer. Information on Torrox fiesta dates.
Being Torrox Costa, which is the coastal town of Torrox, the urbanisation of Torrox Park is on a hillside just a five minute drive from the beach and finally Torrox Pueblo is further up the hillside and offers many Costa local attractions, including more authentic Spanish accomodation and is just a ten minute drive from the beach.
Torrox has all the comforts of other tourist destinations without the overcrowding, similar to many towns in Spain.
Torrox Pueblo is located just 4 kilometers from the beach in the hillside. The village of white washed walls and flower filled balconies overhanging the narrow and sometimes steep streets, clearly remembers its Arabic origins dating back to the 11th century.
The main square epitimizes the the life of the village. With its fountain, gardens, market and bars. It's the perfect place to sample the local tapas and wines.
Almanzor's route runs through the village, following his history on decorative tiles.
Torrox Park calls itself the Engish Garden Village by the sea and is just 900 meters from the beach. It is a very tranquil location set among some beautiful gardens and offers easy access to its surrounding areas.
Torrox Costa is the coastal area offering a wide range of amenities and accomodation along its 9 kilometers of beaches. With local sites of Roman ruins along with a wide range of restaurants, bars and watersports the whole area has so much to offer.
Add to this a number of local golf clubs just a short drive along the coast.
Torrox is not called the town with the best climate in Europe for no reason. Most days the sun will shine in a crisp blue sky onto a town where there is no frost throughout the year. In one direction you can see the Mediterrannean Sea and the other, the fantastic Spanish Almijara mountain range. Which is tipped in snow during the winter months.
Torrox, on the Costa del Sol truly has something for holiday makers wishing to get away from it all. |
